A shelter for cows, and a home for women in need
Since 2002, Govanithashraya Trust has protected cows from slaughter and rehabilitated women in distress, at our 10-acre goushala in Beejaguri, 22 km from Mangaluru.
Twin service: Gou Raksha and women's rehabilitation
It was on 21st April 2002, the auspicious day of Rama Navami, that our Govanithashraya Trust was launched. Since then this unique service organisation has worked in twin directions: protecting cows and women's rehabilitation.
Cows are near and dear to us and are rightly deemed sacred for their great utility. Our mission is to protect them from slaughterhouses and to preserve and improve their breeds. Our Ganga, Gowri, Kapila and Amritha goushalas are the happy home of about 300 cattle.
